Opening supplication (iftitah)
Wajjahtu wajhiya lilladzii fatharas-samaawaati wal-ardha haniifan musliman wamaa anaa minal-musyrikiina inna shalaatii wanusukii wamahyaaya wamamaatii lillaahi rabbil-'aalamiina laa syariika lahu wabidzaalika umirtu wa anaa minal-muslimiin
I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth, upright and submitting, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed my prayer, my worship, my life and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. This I was commanded, and I am among the Muslims.
There are several authentic opening supplications; this is one that is widely read.
